Fun facts about cars.
Karl Friedrich Benz german engineer and one of the maker of the famous german Mercedes- Benz brand is touted as the inventor of the first gasoline- powered automobile in 1886. After his release other companies in the world starded to copy Benz's model with their own like as usual.
One of those companies was America's Ford Motor Company with their Model-T. It was really the first affordable automobile to the middle-class and they suddenly started to exchange  their horse-drawn carriages for this model- T. As a result this car became one of the best-selling vehicles of all time.
These days are about 1.4 billion cars on roads worldwide, with one quarter of those in the USA. Second country with the largest number of cars on roads is China and then Japan. As a result there are many traffic accidents 1.3 million people die each year. The most dangerous roads in the world belong to USA -  110 deaths per 1 million people and the safest with 17 deaths per 1 million people is Iceland.
The largest number of fast roads are in China ( 131 000 km) and United States of America, in the Europe is Spain with the number of 17 109 km. However the longest road in the world is in the USA and it's Pan-American Highway it's about 30 000 km in length. It's going by 17 different countries across valleys, deserts and high mountains.

  1. How come Japan has so many cars on their limited territory and with relatively small population? Are you sure they are still number 3 on the ranking list?
